Using Revolut in Spain
Revolut operates in Spain under its European banking licence, serving Spanish residents with a full multi-currency account and a Spanish-language app experience.
Licence & protection
Customers in Spain are onboarded by Revolut Bank UAB, a Lithuanian-licensed bank passported to operate across the EEA. Eligible deposits are protected by the Lithuanian deposit-guarantee scheme up to €100,000 per depositor.
Plans & pricing
Standard is free; Plus, Premium, Metal and Ultra are available with increasing FX allowances and perks. Standard is free; ATM withdrawals are free up to a monthly limit. Out-of-plan fees and weekend FX mark-ups apply.
Accounts & cards
Your account includes EUR details with a Lithuanian IBAN (LT), widely accepted for SEPA payments across the eurozone. Virtual and physical Visa cards are issued, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support.
Currency exchange
Hold and exchange 30+ currencies. Free weekday exchanges apply up to your plan limit; weekend exchanges carry a mark-up.
Transfers
Free instant transfers to other Revolut users; SEPA transfers in euros; international transfers via SWIFT.
Travel
Premium and Metal include travel insurance and lounge pass schemes — useful for travel within and beyond the Schengen area.
Revolut Business
Revolut Business is available to Spanish companies and freelancers with EUR SEPA details and multi-currency accounts.
Verification
Spanish ID (DNI), NIE or a passport plus a selfie; address verification may be required for higher tiers.
